While Montgomery County is celebrated as an affluent region, that perception masks a critical gap. Approximately 8% to 10% of our neighbors live below the poverty line, with specific pockets in Conroe facing profound economic and educational disadvantages.
Without access to specialized leadership training, college admissions guidance, and critical life skills, talented youth in these under-resourced pockets risk being left behind. We are here to change that with our focus on Access, Affordability, & Alignment.
These scholars were awarded scholarships and will receive first-year wraparound support from Learners are Leaders, Inc.
Nationally, nearly 1 in 4 freshmen drop out—a rate even higher for underrepresented students facing financial strain and limited institutional support.
Our high-impact interventions combat financial stress, emotional distress, isolation, and imposter syndrome so ambassadors persist to graduation.
